Schools around the world

1.

Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you
want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out loud. You will not have
more than 1.5 minutes to read it.
Schools around the world
You attend a regular school every working day. You may take a bus to school or
simply walk to it or probably your parents give you a lift. So you walk into a school
building without realizing in fact how privileged you are to be able to reach your
school without any problems. Millions of kids around the world walk miles and
miles to see their teacher and sometimes their route is dangerous – crossing wild
waters or walking through jungles. So many kids in, say, Australia, can’t attend a
regular school as farms in Australia may be very isolated from one another so they
have lessons on the radio according to a special schedule. Lots of kids can’t read or
write or count as there’s no one to teach them. So next time you walk into the
school building, be grateful for being able to do so.
