Sanskrit is the literary language of
Ancient India.
Sanskrit belongs to the Indo-Iranian
branch of the Indo-European language
family.
Sanskrit has had a profound
influence on the languages of
Northern India.

3. Vedic Sanskrit.

Was used about the Vth century BC.
It contains the earliest sacred
texts of India, they all has its
roots in the Hindu religion.

4. Epic Sanskrit.

Was used about the Vth century BC.
It is form of transition from Vedic
to classical.
On the Epic Sanskrit written such
famous works as "Ramayana" and
"Mahabharata".

5. Classical Sanskrit.

Appeared in the IInd century BC.
In classical Sanskrit, speak to
people not only in India but also in
other countries of the world.
Classical Sanskrit still exists
today.
