The TV tower is a high tower (or mast), on which theantennas of television and broadcasting transmitters are

The Stuttgart TV tower(Fernsehturm Stuttgart) is the
world's first TV tower built of
reinforced concrete in 1956.
It is 216 m high and it weights
3,000 tons.
4. The Shukhov radio tower
The Shukhov radio towerIt was built in 1920-1922 according to the
project of the architect and inventor Vladimir
Shukhov as hyperboloid structure. Such
buildings have become in demand because of
the deficit of metal in the country. The planned
height of the new tower was 350 meters at an
estimated mass of 2,200 tons. However, under
the conditions of the Civil War and the lack of
resources, the project had to be reconsidered:
the height was reduced to 148.5 meters, and
the mass was 240 tons. The new project was
approved personally by Lenin.

kilometres south of the Moscow

tourists. The site is included in
the UNESCO World Heritage
List. For all of its existence, the
Shukhov Tower has never been
