the context of a large-scale attack targeting civilians,
regardless of their nationality. These crimes include murder,
torture, sexual violence, enslavement, persecution, enforced
disappearance, etc.

Court, as well as in domestic prosecutions. The law of
crimes against humanity has primarily developed
through the evolution of customary international law.
