Third country national:
- not Hungarian citizens
- Non EEA (EU) citizens
Exceptions: persons with the right of free movement and
residence (EEA (EU) nationals and their family members).

•„Visa-required” countries
Countries are listed in the I. Annex of the Council Regulation
(EC) No. 539/2001. For example – Russia, China, Vietnam
• Having a valid residence D-type visa for entering
• Visa valid only for 30 days – from the first entrance

• Where? Office of Immigration and Nationality III. Branch (1135

• Who? Required to appear in person
• Wich documents are needed?
Passport, visa, form
Photo – stamp on the back side made by the consular officer if

(EC) No. 539/2001. For example – USA, Brazil, Australia
- Entitled to stay 90 days from the first entrance
- Starting the Residence permit procedure in 30 days

• Who? Required to appear in person

11. Documents supporting the financial conditions

• The third country national has the financial provision for the
residence exceeding 90 days within 180 days, if he/she or
his/her family member is able to provide the costs of his/her
living, accommodation, leaving the country, and of his/her
health care if needed from legally gained employment
income.
• Non-fixed amount (!)
• Family member: spouse and parents (!)

12. Documents supporting the financial conditions

A foreigner residing in Hungary for studying purposes can
certify his/her living primarily with
• scholarship certificate;
• money on bank account;
• money sent regularly to his bank account from abroad
• sponsor (certificates of income, bank account, pay slips,
savings, any other way)
• documents certifying the relationship between the applicant
and the sponsor

13. Documents supporting the existence of Hungarian accommodation

• The existence of Hungarian accommodation can be proved
primarily with the following documents:
• Tenancy agreement/contract
• Proof that a Commercial accommodation is booked and paid
for;
• Proof of student accommodation;
• A property sales contract
• Any other way

Reasons:
Fake documents (bank statements, pay slips, insurance)
Missing documents
Not enough financial sources
