In earth science, erosion is the action of
surface processes such as water that
remove soil, rock, or dissolved material.
Waterjet Cutting is essentially erosion,
but the very high pressure of the water
extremely accelerate the process.
In addition, to be able to cut any type of
material, garnet is mixed up with the water.

ELECTRIC SERVO TECHNOLOGY
ELECTRIC SERVO PUMP
The TECHNI Waterjet™ Quantum NXT™ water
jet pump is a revolutionary concept in waterjet
cutting. The ESP incorporates a servo motor
directly enveloping a high load, precision ball
screw.
The ball screw directly houses the ceramic
plungers, which reciprocate back and forth to
create the pumping action, in much the same
way as a hydraulic cylinder works on an
intensifier waterjet pump.
The infinite control of the servo motor and
precision of the ball screw, enable extremely
accurate control over the output pressure and
volume of the water displaced.
Eliminates pressure spikes when deadheading

ALTERNATIVES HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TECHNOLOGIES
Why did TECHNI developed a new Electric Servo Pump?
The existing technology have considerable limitations.
INTENSIFIER PUMP
Capable of delivering high operating pressures and can be “deadheaded” by holding pressure without any water being displaced.
LIMITATIONS:
Dead-heading without power reduction results in unwanted
pressure spikes of up to 10% of the operating pressure, which
is harmful to components and causes failure in high pressure
piping and fittings.
Intensifier pumps are typically very inefficient, large and noisy.
DIRECT DRIVE PUMP
Typically smaller, quieter and more efficient than intensifiers.
LIMITATIONS:
Cannot dead-head, and must dump the water over a relief
valve to drain whenever the pump is on.
As a result, it is not practical to run multiple heads or varying
orifices, as the unused water and energy is wasted.
Direct Drive pumps are not suitable for running varying
pressures, and are less reliable than intensifier pumps due to
their high plunger piston speeds.
