Basic information
The Decembrist Museum is a department of
the A.K. Kuznetsov Trans-Baikal Regional
Museum of Local Lore. The museum was
opened in 1985 in a wooden building of the
former Old Chita Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk
Church.

The Decemberists
For three and a half years, 85 Decembrists sentenced to hard labor
were parishioners of this church. The Decembrists were married in it.
Funeral services for the dead were held here.
