What does the word "Punks" mean?
Punks are a subculture that emerged in the late 60s of the 20th century. First
of all, the ideology of this subculture is "We are not like everyone else", "Every
individual has the right to freedom", also the ideology was to change the
previous political structure. Punks have always been for the reign of anarchy,
their motto was the phrase – "Anarchy is the mother of order! Anarchy hoi!"
Панки – субкультура возникшая в конце 60-х годов 20 века. В первую очередь,
идеология этой субкультуры – «Мы не такие как все», «Каждый индивид
имеет право на свободу», также идеология заключалась в изменении
прежнего политического уклада. Панки всегда были за царствование анархии,
их девизом была фраза – «Анархия – мать порядка! Анархия хой!»

3. The birth of the Punk subculture

1976 is considered the birth of the punk subculture. It was then that the
famous trio in the person of The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned loudly
declared themselves to the world. It was then that a kind of turning point
came for young people, because the rock and roll genre was fading, and
teenagers needed fundamentally new music, and punk rock became it.

заявила о себе миру. Именно тогда для молодежи настал своего рода
переломный момент, потому как жанр рок-н-ролла угасал, а подростки
нуждались в принципиально новой музыке, и ею стал панк-рок.

4. Music in the punk subculture

The music of punk rock was dynamic then, performed with a minimal set of
musical instruments, and the vocals were rough and defiant, in fact, like the
lyrics of the compositions. The texts contained a lot of social overtones, but
it was not without politics. Punks were against the ruling elites of that time,
those in power, so to speak. Maybe someone does not guess, but the genre
of punk rock still occupies the pedestal of world music.

набором музыкальных инструментов, а вокал был грубым и вызывающим,
собственно, как и тексты композиций. В текстах содержалось много
социального подтекста, однако не обошлось и без политики. Панки были
против тогдашних правящих элит, власть имущих, так сказать. Может кто-то и
не догадывается, но жанр панк-рока до сих пор занимает пьедестал мировой
музыки.

9. The general style of punks

Punks have always preferred the Dead style – all kinds of death attributes are on their
clothes: skulls, crows, crosses and the like. Tattoos don't stay away either. In addition, punks
used to heavily abuse alcohol and drugs, as well as violence (even on themselves). Suicide
was so frequent that it was this subculture that at one time came out on the 1st place in
terms of the number of suicides from all the subcultures of that time. However, over time,
such a lifestyle among punks was reduced to zero – it became unacceptable for them.
Of course, there are representatives of this subculture who still take alcohol and drugs in
large quantities. But these are the costs of the old culture, which for some still remain
factors that recognize you as a "true punk"
Панки всегда предпочитали стиль Dead (мертвых) – на одеждах всевозможные атрибуты
смерти: черепа, вороны, кресты и тому подобное. Татуировки тоже не остаются в стороне.
Кроме того, раньше панки сильно злоупотребляли алкоголем и наркотиками, а также
насилием (даже над самим собой). Суицид был настолько частым явлением, что именно эта
субкультура в своё время вышла на 1 место по количеству суицидов из всех тогдашних
субкультур. Однако со временем такой образ жизни у панков был сведен к нулю – он стал
для них неприемлем.
Само собой остаются представители данной субкультуры, которые по прежнему принимают
алкоголь и наркотики в большом количестве. Но это уже издержки старой культуры, которые
для некоторых по сей день остаются факторами, признающими тебя «тру-панком»

10. More about ideology

As I said earlier, ideology is based on the importance of personal choice, the search for freedom. Punks are not afraid to
express their individuality – this is their difference from other subcultures. However, it becomes clear that with the
development of the punk subculture, the ideology began to branch out greatly. The most popular acquired:
Socialism
Anarchy
Conservatism
Liberalism
Some punks remain apolitical, but at the same time actively participate in political protests of various scales
Как я раньше и говорил, в основе идеологии лежит важность личного выбора, поиск свободы. Панки не боятся выражать
свою индивидуальность – в этом их отличие от других субкультур. Однако, становится ясным тот факт, что по мере развития
субкультуры панков, идеология начала сильно разветвляться. Наибольшую популярность приобрели:
Социализм
Анархия
Консерватизм
Либерализм
Некоторые панки остаются аполитичными, однако при этом активно участвуют в политических протестах разного масштаба
