Usage:
Decisions made at the moment of
speaking:
I’m tired. I will go to bed.
Predictions about the future (often with
"think," "hope," "expect," etc.):
I think it will rain tomorrow.
Offers, promises, and threats:
Don’t worry, I will help you.
I won’t tell anyone your secret.
Structure:
Form:
Positive: Subject + will + verb (base form)
Negative: Subject + will not (won’t) + verb (base
form)
Question: Will + subject + verb (base form)?
Examples:
Positive: I will travel to Japan next summer.
Negative: He won’t attend the meeting
tomorrow.
Question: Will they come to the party tonight?

Structure:
Usage:
Plans and intentions:
"We are going to buy a new car next
year." (A decision has already been
made.)
Predictions based on present
evidence:
"Look at those clouds! It is going to
rain soon."
Form:
Positive: Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb (base
form)
Negative: Subject + am not/isn’t/aren’t + going to +
verb (base form)
Question: Am/Is/Are + subject + going to + verb
(base form)?
Examples:
Positive: She is going to study for the exam
tomorrow.
Negative: They aren’t going to play football this
weekend.
Question: Are you going to visit your grandparents?

4. 3. Future Continuous

Structure:
Usage:
Actions that will be in progress at a
specific time in the future:
"This time next week, I will be lying on
the beach."
Planned future events or actions that
will happen over a period of time:
"We will be meeting with the client from
3 to 5 PM tomorrow."
Form:
Positive: Subject + will be + verb + -ing
Negative: Subject + will not (won’t) be + verb + ing
Question: Will + subject + be + verb + -ing?
Examples:
Positive: I will be working all day tomorrow.
Negative: She won’t be studying at this time
tomorrow.
Question: Will they be traveling next week?

Common Time Expressions with Future Tenses:
Future Simple: tomorrow, next week, in two days, soon, in the
future
‘Be going to’: this evening, next year, in a few minutes, later
Future Continuous: this time tomorrow, at 5 PM next Monday, at
this time next week
