Translation Problems of the
There is a plenty of stylistic devices and expressive means here, which may Project
pose certain difficulties during translation. For example, swear words (damn
it, big-ass book, dork, idiot, what the hell, little bitch). The most appropriate
option is to weaken those words during translation in Ukrainian due to
social norms in our country, e.g (damn it – чорт).
The language of the series is simple and contains grammatical
inaccuracies, e.g., various usages of the verb to get (gonna be, get high,
got it, gotta, gotten stuck etc.), contraction (don’t, cuz, we’re, gonna,
wonna, dad, that’s all of ‘em, Gosh, D’you want. bro), colloquial expressions
(show up, get high, screw, suit up, go out, What’s up, freak out, Come on,
chicken out. What are the odds? KEEP IT GOIN' BRO).
Expressive means such as ellipsis (omission of certain parts of speech) and
nominative sentences (Like my shirt. . Or... my underwear. Oh-that's rightI'm not wearing any. Not slightly, aposiopesis (Lily had been...well... extra
affectionate. Yeah-uh-it's. Uh-so if you wanna swing by its-uh-you know).
The humor in the series is created not only by the situations and facial
expressions of the character, but also by stylistic devices such sarcasm,
irony, hyperbole and litote. And it is important to translate them properly
tom make them understandable and funny for the potential viewers.

analysis of the script in time and then she
edited our translations. Her commentaries
were appropriate and meaningful.
