Passive voice in English

1. Passive voice in English

Presentation by Nastya Sapronova

2. What is passive voice

There are two voices in English: active voice and passive voice.

3. Neptune

When do we use passive voice?
- When the person who carries out the action is unknown,
unimportant or obvious from the context. My car was repaired two
days ago.
- When the action itself is more important than the person who
carries it out. The new meeting will be announced by president in a couple
of days.
-
When we do not want to say who/what is to blame. So, this vase has
been broken.
Also, they often use
passive voice in recipes.
