Types of residential buildings in Russia

2.

Panel houses
• Modern panel houses compare favorably
with their predecessors — the apartment
area has become larger, the kitchens are
up to 15 meters in size, and the windows
have double-glazed windows. The
designers raised the ceilings and
expanded the exterior wall of the building,
making the apartments warmer, and noise
from the street and neighbors' apartments
less disturbing to residents. Today, typical
panel houses are built mainly on the
outskirts — their construction site takes up
too much space.

3.

Stalin's houses
• These are the familiar spacious
apartments with high ceilings,
which are located in buildings
with beautiful facades in the city
center. Stalin's houses were built
from the late 30s to the mid-50s
of the last century, but such
housing is still considered elite
and expensive.

4.

The Khrushchevites
• The famous panel or brick five—
story buildings built under the rule
of Nikita Sergeevich Khrushchev
- from the mid-50s to the mid-60s
of the XX century.

5.

The Brezhnev Houses
• Built between 1970 and
1990, these houses are
improved versions of
Khrushchev's

6.

Individual houses
• This class includes a wide variety of brick
houses, where the layout of apartments
depends only on the funds of the developer
and the ideas of the architect. Such houses
began to appear in the mid-80s — then they
were called "non-serial", they continue to
actively build them today. Modern houses of
this type usually have excellent heat and
sound insulation: in addition to being made of
brick, the apartments have triple glazing. The
ceilings in apartments are usually high, and
you are given unlimited possibilities for
redevelopment . But the price of such housing
can be quite high.
