• 1783 — the United States of America gained
formal power over the territory of Wisconsin.
• 1818 — Wisconsin became part of the territory of
Michigan.
• In the 1820s of the XIX century, there were
several armed clashes between Americans and
Indians, known as the "Winnebago War". The
result of the European victory in these conflicts
was the almost complete displacement of Indian
tribes from Wisconsin.
• May 29, 1848 — Wisconsin became the thirtieth
U.S. state
