Bulgar
Bulgar is one of the capitals of Volga-Kama Bulgaria, later
one of the largest cities of the Golden Horde.
The city was founded in the 10th century in the coastal
areas of the middle reaches of the Volga and Kama by the
Bulgars, who came here from the Azov region after the
collapse of the Great Bulgaria state.
In 1361, it was destroyed by the Golden Horde Prince
Bulat-Timur. Then it was rebuilt, but in 1431 it was
destroyed by voivode Fyodor Pechenyi, after which it was
abandoned by the inhabitants and was no longer restored.
The settlement is located near the city of Bolgar in
Tatarstan. Today this place is called the most complete
