When you open your presentation please remember:
that first impressions count, so learn your opening by heart;
be organized;
tell a joke if it is appropriate;
be brief.

Make sure you include the following in your opening:
greeting;
brief self-introduction;
introduction of your topic;
structure of your presentation.
