B Ever since I bought a car, I’ve been enjoying going for drives.

うーん、思い出せない。前にどこかで
会ったような気がするんだけど……。
A Do you see the person standing over there? Do you know who he is?
B Hmmm . . . I don’t remember. I have a feeling I’ve met him somewhere, though.

せっかく日本に来たんだから、日本で
しか食べられないものを食べてみようよ。
A What should we eat for dinner tonight?
B Since we came all the way to Japan, let’s get something we can only eat in Japan.

A So you went to the new restaurant? Was it crowded?
B Yeah, but I had made a reservation, so it saved me from waiting.

でも、昨日ほど寒くありませんよ。

昨日は 度でしたから。
A It’s very cold today—only 10 degrees.
B But it’s not as cold as yesterday. It was 6 degrees yesterday.

A Mr. Aoyama has the flu, apparently.
B Ah, that’s why he is not here today.

A Oh, it’s five o’clock already. Sorry, but I need to leave at six.
B Oh I see, so you are only staying for another hour or so.
