Preparations for the celebration begin back in
November — Advent, the pre-Christmas fast,
begins 4 weeks before the holiday. The British
wish each other a Merry Christmas and
always send greeting cards.
The lava tree of Christmas is a fir tree, a
symbol of eternal nature. Traditionally, the
British decorate it in three colors: green, red
and gold.

This day symbolizes the adoption of
Christianity in Ireland, and is also a
celebration of the cultural heritage of Ireland
as a whole. St. Patrick's Day celebrations
usually include parades and festivals,

attend church services on this day. On this
day, restrictions related to fasting are relaxed
and alcohol consumption is allowed

A pagan and Zoroastrian holiday marking the
shortest night of the year.
In England, the world-famous megalithic
monument Stonehenge is considered the
center of attraction for this celebration.
Occult dances will dance all night around
Stonehenge and listen to live music in tune
with the spirit of the ancient structure. The
culmination of the unusual celebration will be
the ceremony of meeting the dawn, which
ends the shortest night of the year.

EdinburghInternational Festival
— this is a celebration of music, theater,
opera and dance, which is held in Edinburgh
every August.
The Edinburgh Festival is unique. Theatrical,
opera, dance and musical arts are presented
here at the same time. It includes concerts of
classical, orchestral, chamber and vocal
music, theatrical performances, opera, dance
shows, ballets performed by leading creative
teams from many countries of the world.

HalloweenHalloween, also known as All Saints' Eve, is
celebrated in English-speaking countries on
the night of October 31 to November 1.
Throughout Britain, Halloween is traditionally
celebrated with children's games such as
jumping for apples in containers of water,
telling ghost stories and carving faces on
hollowed-out vegetables such as rutabagas and
turnips. These faces were usually illuminated
from the inside by a candle, and lanterns were
placed on window sills to ward off evil spirits.

Guy Fawkes Night orBonfire Night
- this is a traditional celebration of the failure
of the Gunpowder Plot, when Guy Fawkes
tried to assassinate King James I.
In the UK, this holiday is celebrated on
November 5th
On this day, fireworks are set off in England
and bonfires are lit, burning an effigy of Guy
Fawkes.

— International tennis tournament, one of the
four Grand Slam tournaments.
Since 1877, he has played most of his matches
on the grass courts of the All England Lawn
Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon,
United Kingdom.
The main competition grids are traditionally
held in a two—week period in late June - early
July. They identify winners in five categories
for adults, four for senior juniors and four for
wheelchair users.
