London Parks

2.

• There are more than 150 city and state parks
in London
• London is famous not only for its tourist
attractions like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey,
Buckingham Palace and others, but for
beautiful and stunning parks as well.

3.

Hyde Park
London’s most famous park, located in the heart of Westminster.
• Hyde Park is London’s most well-known
and popular park and is one of the 8 Royal
Parks in London. Located in the central
London borough of Westminster.
• Now the park is a place of great interest not
only because of its beauty but also of the
oldest boat lake, Serpantine, that is located
in the Hyde Park. It is possible to see ducks,
swans and some other animals there. In
addition Serpantine still remains the place
where different demonstrations take place.

4.

Kensington Gardens
• Kensington Gardens are located
next to Hyde Park. They spread out
around the palace, the official royal
residence.
• It was built in 1689. Lady Diana once
lived here, and now the Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge, William and
Kate. This is a very prestigious area of
London.

5.

St James’s Park
• Closer to the center of London, there
is a small, but one of the most
beautiful royal parks - St. James's
Park. Next to him, on certain days in
the morning, a solemn ceremony of
changing the guards of Buckingham
Palace takes place.
• In the center of the park there is a lake
with more than 30 species of birds,
including sedentary pelicans. A large
number of squirrels live here, who are
not afraid of people and willingly pose
for photos.

6.

Green Park
• Green Park is a modest park complex,
on the territory of which there are
several memorials in honor of the
military who died in two world wars.
There are practically no
entertainment and tourist attractions
here (unlike many other parks in
London, which abound with
reservoirs, flower beds, fountains,
monuments, and sometimes
architectural buildings).

7.

Holland Park
• The most romantic Holland Park is not so
close to the center, but it is worth a trip
there. There are many secluded corners
with a unique atmosphere. There are
fashionable areas with luxury houses
around the park. Now in the park you can
find a greenhouse, tennis courts, a play
area for kids, a Japanese garden and a
field designed for playing cricket.
