Nikola Tesla was born on 10th July1856 in Smiljan in Croatia.

His father was a priest and he wasthe 4tth out of five children.
His brother passed away when he
was 7 so he started having visions
important later in his life.

The boy was interested in physics from childhood. Atfirst he studied in one of the Croatian gymnasiums.
After school he went to Austria University to study
Math and Physics.

Tesla spoke 8 languages: Serbian, Latin, German,Hungarian, Italian, Czech, French and English. His
favourite subjects were mathematics and science. He
was also known as a star student

In 1881, the physicist moved to Budapest and started workingfor a telegraph company. A year later, he moves to Paris, where
he gets a place in the company of Thomas Edison here he creates
an alternating current generator.

In 1884, Nikola Tesla moved again, now to New York. Hecontinues to collaborate with Edison, but not for long. Edison
and Tesla could not agree on the future of alternating current.

Therefore, the inventor continues to cooperate with GeorgeWestinghouse, in his electrical engineering company
"Westinghouse Electric". It was in this collaboration that Nikola
Tesla showed himself as a talented inventor.

On 7 January 1943 at the age of 86 Tesla died alone inroom 3327 of the New Yorker Hotel. Assistant medical
examiner Wembley examined the body and ruled that
the cause of death had been coronary thrombosis

Tesla's funeral took place on 12 January 1943, atthe Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in
Manhattan, New York City.

His body was cremated and his ashes taken toBelgrade, Yugoslavia in 1957. The urn was placed in
the Nikola Tesla Museum.
