The first World Cup was
held in 1950 in Argentina,
they won the first World
Cup.
Since then, the number of
participants, audience
interest and bids have
increased. The tournament
is held every four years.
INTERESTING FACT:
The USA is the most successful participant in the history of the World Cup.
The team has won five gold medals and is a regular favorite of the
tournament

role in the development of
the World Cup. They provide
financing and organization
of events.
The organization of the
Basketball World Cup requires
the friendly work of many
people. Volunteers, judges,
coaches and doctors contribute to
the events

Current format:
1)The 32 teams are divided into four
groups of eight, each of which plays each
other in a round-robin system.
2)The top two teams from each group
advance to the second group stage,
where each of them will play two more
matches.
3)Then eight teams advance to the
quarterfinals and are divided into
groups. The teams play until the winner
is determined

The year 2023 is
currently being held in
the Philippines, Japan
and Indonesia, and this
is already a real
basketball festival.
The next World
Cup will be held in
Qatar in 2027.
