Edinburgh Castle
Edinburgh Castle on the Castle
Rock above the city was built in the
XII century on the site of an extinct
volcano, but has been
reconstructed many times. The
largest reconstruction was carried
out in the XVII century. The castle
is located on a cliff, at an altitude of
133 meters, so it can be seen from
anywhere in the city

Fort Railway Bridge
The Forth Bridge Railway Bridge is
a bridge over the Firth of Forth off
the east coast of Scotland. It was
built from 1882 to 1890. It became
one of the first cantilever bridges in
the world, and also had a
maximum span length for several
years. The bridge connects the
capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, with
the Fife region.

Unicorn
• The unicorn is the national symbol
of Scotland, as well as the plants
thistle and heather. For many years,
the unicorn has represented the
freedom-loving spirit of the Scottish
people. It is present in the national
coat of arms of the United
Kingdom, where it supports the
royal shield, as well as in the coat of
arms of Scotland itself.

Edinburgh Zoo
• Edinburgh Zoo is part of the
Royal Zoological Society of
Scotland. It is located in a
beautiful hilly park, and was
opened in 1913. The zoo is one
of the most popular attractions in
the city.

St. Margaret's Chapel
St. Margaret's Chapel, located
within the walls of Edinburgh
Castle, is the oldest building in
Edinburgh. It was built in memory
of Queen Margaret, who is said to
have died of a broken heart after
her husband's death.
