Great terror
In French history, there was
the term "red terror", which
was associated with the
period of the French
Revolution, known as the
"Great Terror". In 1793-1794,
during the Revolutionary
government, cruel measures
were taken against political
opponents and "enemies of
the revolution".

punitive measures carried out by the
Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War
