VYACHESLAVOVICH
SAVELYEV
Russian and Soviet biologist

2.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Moscow, he received higher
education at the Biology and Chemistry
Faculty at the Moscow State
Correspondence Pedagogical Institute
Has been working at the Research Institute
of Human Morphology of the Russian
Academy of Sciences since 1984
The title of professor was awarded in 2000

LABORATORY
Since 1993, S.V. Savelyev has been head of
the Laboratory of the Development of
the Nervous System at the Research
Institute of Human Morphology. In this
laboratory, they study the patterns of cell
differentiation and its disturbances in the
nervous and endocrine systems of
experimental animals and humans, both
in normal development, with adaptive
changes and compensatory regeneration,
and in the pathogenesis of some socially
significant diseases.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
In the course of research, Savelyev made a
number of discoveries, on the basis of
which he formed his main ideas: the
development of the human brain and body
occurs along different evolutionary paths,
and the brain, unlike the body, is subjected
to the so-called cerebral sorting - artificial
selection.

Jaw of an Australopithecus, teeth showing signs of caries.
This type of teeth is adapted to eating soft food.
Savelyev says that it all started with Heaven.
Four and a half million years ago, the
Australopithecus ancestors, the Proconsuls and
Toumai, found themselves in an extremely
favorable environment in eastern Africa, where
they had plenty of available food and no natural
enemies. In such an environment, the
emergence of speech became possible, and the
evolution of the brain separated from the
evolution of the body.
With climate change, living conditions became
harsh, and those individuals who had a large
neocortex, allowing them to share food with
each other and live in communities, gained an
advantage. Greedy individuals with a small
neocortex partly died out, partly assimilated.
This was the first manifestation of the artificial
selection of the brain produced by man over
himself - cerebral sorting.

NOWADAYS
Individual variability of the fields of the precentral area of the human
cerebral cortex.
Today, the brain is still the
most volatile organ in our
body and is still subject to
unconscious sorting.
Because of this,
unfortunately, 90% of
talents and geniuses go
unnoticed and do not
reveal their potential,
because they may simply
not be aware of their
abilities.

7.

SORTING TOOL
Savelyev's research also shows that
all people are talented at least in
some way. In this regard, he
proposes to create a highprecision tomograph that reveals
the hidden abilities of the brain.
When such a device is created,
each person will receive a favorite
profession, commensurate with
the structural features of their
brain.
