Times Square

1.

Times Square is a major commercial intersection,
tourist destination, entertainment hub, and
neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York
City. It is formed by the junction of Broadway,
Seventh Avenue, and 42nd Street. Together with
adjacent Duffy Square, Times Square is a bowtieshaped space five blocks long between 42nd and
47th Streets.[2]
Brightly lit at all hours by numerous digital billboards
and advertisements as well as businesses offering
24/7 service, Times Square is sometimes referred to
as "the Crossroads of the World,”[3]” the Center of
the Universe,”[4] "the heart of the Great White
Way",[5][6][7] “the Center of the Entertainment
Universe”,[8] and "the heart of the world".
The most visited place in the world, according to the authoritative magazine "The
Forbes", is Times Square. Every year, more than 50 million tourists spend their leisure
time here, 300 thousand pedestrians pass daily and 115 thousand cars pass by,
delivering New Yorkers to their destination. It's not for nothing that this location has a
second, unofficial name – "The Crossroads of the World" (translated from English as
"Crossroads of the World").
