NANOROBOTS

2.

Nanotechnology is a high-tech industry that works with
individual atoms and molecules. Such super-precision
makes it possible to use the laws of nature at a qualitatively
new level for the benefit of man - to create products with a
given atomic structure, so developments in nanotechnology
find application in almost any industry: medicine,
engineering, electronics, ecology...

3.

The main goal of nanotechnology is to create mechanisms that are much smaller than the
thickness of a human hair. Such mechanisms, by manipulating the same microscopic tools,
will make it possible to create smaller processors and robots. Nano mechanisms will be able
to create at the molecular level a coating for any part of any material.

4.

Modern science and engineering need the help of robotic technology to solve
various problems. The problems that scientists are increasingly facing require not
giants capable of digging a pit with a single movement of the bucket, but tiny,
invisible machines. Such machines are called nanorobots. Microscopic robots can
solve a lot of important tasks for mankind, revolutionize medicine, destroy
hazardous waste and much more.

5.

Nanorobots must have the functions of movement, information processing and
transmission, and program execution. The size of nanorobots does not exceed a
few nanometers. According to modern theories, nanorobots should be able to
communicate bilaterally: they should respond to acoustic signals and be able to
recharge or reprogram from outside by means of sound or electric vibrations.

6.

Also important are replication functions - self-assembly of new nanites and
programmed self-destruction, when the work environment, such as the human
body, no longer needs the presence of nanorobots in it. In the latter case, the
robots must disintegrate into harmless and fast-retrievable components.

7.

The birthday of nanotechnology is considered to be December 29,
1959. Richard Feynman, a professor at the California Institute of
Technology (Nobel laureate in 1965), in his lecture "How Much
Space is Down There" given to the American Physical Society,
noted the possibility of using atoms as building particles. Since
then, the creation of atomic force and scanning tunneling
microscopes, capable not only of giving a three-dimensional pattern
of the arrangement of atoms, but also of moving them around, has
begun. Another starting point in the theory of nanorobots can be
considered the book "Machines of Creation" by American scientist
Eric Drexler, in which he describes mini-robots that work according
to predetermined programs and assemble from molecules anything,
including themselves. Nanorobots appeared somewhat later.

8.

The field of application of nanorobots is very wide. In fact, they may be
necessary in creating, debugging and maintaining the functioning of any complex
system. Nanomachines can be used in electronics to create mini-devices or
electrical circuits - this technology is called molecular nanoassembly. In the long
run, any assembly in a factory of components can be replaced by a simple
assembly of atoms.

9.

However, the issue of nanorobots application in medicine has now
come to the forefront. The human body seems to suggest the idea of
nanorobots, since it itself contains many natural nanomechanisms:
many neutrophils, lymphocytes and white blood cells are constantly
functioning in the body, repairing damaged tissues, destroying
invading microorganisms and removing foreign particles from various
organs. By conventional injection, nanorobots can be injected into the
blood or lymph.

10.

Nanorobots can do literally everything: diagnose conditions of any organs and
processes, interfere with these processes, deliver drugs, connect and destroy
tissues, synthesize new ones. In fact, nanorobots can continuously rejuvenate a
person by replicating all his tissues. At this stage, scientists have developed a
complex program simulating the design and behavior of nanorobots in the body.

Aspects of maneuvering in the arterial environment, searching for
proteins using sensors, have been developed in extreme detail.
Scientists have conducted virtual studies of nanorobots for the
treatment of diabetes, abdominal research, cancer, and biodefense
against poisonous substances.
This is the first Nanorobot capable of treating cancerous tumors.

12.

A step towards the creation of nanorobots has already been taken,
and once again we are faced with the question of formulation: do
our innovations change our own lives, or do we change them
ourselves. Whether we will be able to create a world based on
nanomechanics, free from hunger and want and with the potential
for development, or whether the road of yellow nanobricks will
lead us to the chaos of new wars will depend on ourselves, but one
thing is clear: the world is changing and we are changing rapidly
along with it.
