When do we use the Reported Speech?Sometimes someone says a sentence…
“I am going to the cinema tonight”.
Later, maybe we want to tell someone else
what the first person said.

We usually use a “reporting verb”like “say” or “tell”
He told me that he loved me.
He said to me that he

With “tell” we NEED to usethe direct object (me, you, us):
