Defining relative clausescome immediately after a noun and give important information about it.
They tell us which person, thing or place we are talking about.
We use relative pronouns like:
Who (that) – for people
Where – for places
Which (that) – for things
Whose – for possessions

For example:He married a girl (who) he met at the library.(object) (дополнение)
He married a girl he met at the library.(we can omit who when it is the object)
That’s the boy who helped me. (subject) (подлежащее)
I've eaten the pasta (which) I made yesterday.(object)
That’s the cat that I saw in my garden.(subject)
This is a place where I live. (cannot be omitted)
This is a woman whose son studies in our school. (cannot be omitted)

Non-defining relative clausesCome immediately after a noun and give us extra information about it.
We often use it to combine information from two simple sentences.
We use relative pronouns like:
Who – for people
Where – for places
Which – for things
Whose – for possessions

For example:Donald Trump is an American president. He was a businessman.
Donald Trump, who was a businessman, is an American President.
My grandpa, who is 90 years old, loves playing chess.
Our college, which gives additional education in English , accept all the students.
Charles Dickens, whose novel we read last week, was born two hundred years ago.

the sentence loses its meaning
