Capital
Atlanta is the state capital and the main
tourist destination in the region. In
recent years, the city has become a
major economic and cultural center of
the American South. Theme parks,
gardens, theatres, museums, historical
battlefields - Atlanta has it all. CNN, the
World of Coke Museum, the Centenary
Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, and
the National Center for Civil and Human
Rights building are just a few of the
attractions in the southern capital.
Although the old South is described as
conservative, Atlanta is known for its
diversity and culture. The modern city
adheres to the high-tech style, but at the
same time manages to retain its charm,
elegance and historical roots.

Attraction
Georgia Guidestones - granite monument
in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. Consisting
of six granite slabs, the monument, about
6 meters high and weighing 119 tons,
contained inscriptions in eight modern
languages, including Russian, and four
ancient ones. The tablets were installed
in 1980 by a local firm, Elberton Granite
Finishing, for a client who hid under a
pseudonym; the mystique surrounding the
erection of this structure and the
ambiguous text on the Tablets have given
rise to numerous conspiracy theories. In
2022, one of the tablets was destroyed by
an explosive device. Later that day, the
remains of the monument were
demolished by the local authorities.

Traditions
For New York, New Year's Eve is, of course, the fall of a crystal
ball in Times Square from a height of 23 meters. But in Atlanta,
Georgia, there is a similar New York tradition. Only instead of a
huge ball, they observe the fall of a huge peach.
