In all times, in spite of the fact, what social or economic situation
was in this or that country, Higher Education was demanded.
Nowadays enrolling university has a great significance too.

Difficult choice
People attend university without asking themselves what they
want from their target university and what they want to do after
they graduate;
The way to choose a university should correspond to the interests;
It helps gaining necessary knowledge of appropriate
qualification and improve your prospects;
A personality type can play a great role to be a success as a
university student.

Reasons to enter the university
More and more careers require advanced education;
Research indicates that a degree of higher education can have an
important and expansive impact on your life. It helps gaining
necessary knowledge of appropriate qualification and improve your
prospects;
Advanced education increases chances of getting a better paid
job.

Higher education in Russia
Secondary vocational;
Bachelor’s degree;
Specialist degree;
Master's degree;
Postgraduate studies.

Differences in education in Russia
and the USA
Higher education in Russia is very prestigious and that’s why a great
number of school leavers dream to enter the university in comparison
with American students where the number of foreign students exceeds
American ones.
Higher education is paid in America while in Russia those students at
school who have high-quality education can get advanced education
free of charge.
In the USA academic year usually starts with a visit to guidance
counselor and/or with a few hours pursuing course catalogue and
picking the classes, which you will take that semester. In Russia, you
follow a predetermined course too, but unlike in the US, it is extremely
tough, with very few electives.
In the USA students have some time for self-work in libraries, workshops
or laboratories, while in Russia students have time to study for tests and
exams at the end of each term.

This type of training has been practiced in America for a long
time;
In Russia it has been quite recently;
Advantages:
Flexibility;
Reduced costs;
Increased of free time.

Similarities in education in Russia
and the USA
Every student applies for university admission independently .
Classes range from large lectures with several hundred students
where they make notes to smaller classes and seminars;
There is a continuous assessment at universities in both countries;
Students may get marks or grades participating in class discussions,
especially in seminar classes;
There are postgraduate studies both in Russia and the US.

My opinion
It is necessary to know a foreign language at an advanced level
in order to understand the meaning of the subjects study.
Studying abroad is more expensive than in Russia and not
everyone can afford it.
I get homesick easily and that’s why I won’t consider choosing a
university in other country.
Who knows how life will turn out in the future and perhaps after
receiving my first education in Russia I will decide to get a second
one already abroad.

Conclusion
It is important to remember, that getting higher education in any
country is never easy;
It requires hard work and a lot of effort;
The reward is the future of excellent opportunities.
