Shakyamuni

Golder Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni is the
largest Buddhist temple in Europe. It was built in
december 2005 in the initiative of Dalai Lama XIV
(the leader of Tibetian and Russian Buddhists).
Kalmyks come here to pray.

temple of seven days (pagoda) - buddhist building in the
center of Elista. It was built in 2005. The name of this
building is associated with 7 buddhas who “came in our
world”. In the body of the pagoda there is a prayer wheel
with diameter of 1.2 meters and height of 1.8 meters with
Tibetan inscriptions on it.

City Chess

Сity-Сhess - large residential complex in the southeast
of Elista devoted to chess competitions. It was build in
1998 specially for 33d Chess Olympiad on the initiative
of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov (Kalmykia’s president). The
central object - "City-Chess hall" was the place, where
the olympiad held. Sonner it became the “museum of
chess glory”.
