1. Loch ness is the most mysterious lake in the world.
2.
Address: United Kingdom, Scotland, highlanddistrict.
Area: 56 km2.
Maximum depth: 230 m
Coordinates: 57 ° 18 '00.0" N 4 ° 27'00.0"W
3. Loch ness is almost every person primarily associated with a huge monster that lives (or does not live) in its depths.
Naturally, this is not surprising, because the first legends and eyewitness
stories about this most mysterious reservoir in the world and the
prehistoric monster living in it belong to the year 565.
4. According to geologists, Loch ness appeared during the ice age, as a result of shifting rocks: its length is currently about 37
kilometers, and the width is more than one and a half. TheScottish reservoir, along with its medieval castles, is one of the
most visited places in Scotland: according to statistics, every year
more than half a million people come to the lake from all corners
of the globe.
5. The first written mention of the Loch Ness monster dates back to 565. However, in those distant times, the appearance of the
monster was attributed to themanifestation of evil forces. People from a small village sent a fisherman on a boat to
the last journey, and the "fiend of hell"attacked him. The funeral procession was
approached by Saint Columbus (of course, not the one who discovered America) and
asked the people: "Why are you burying such a young man?" He was told that while
the fisherman was in the boat, a monster jumped out of the water and killed a man.
The boat with the body of the deceased had already left the shore.
6. So does the Loch Ness monster exist? Or is it another legend that has emerged to attract a huge number of tourists to Scotland?
The answer to thisquestion at the moment, none of the authoritative experts do not dare to
give. However, there is an aerial photograph that supposedly proves the
existence of a living creature of enormous size in Loch ness: it was taken by
Tim Dinsdale.A huge number of examinations proved that this is not a fake,
and the lake at the time of shooting really floated "living creature" at a speed
of just over 16 kilometers per hour. All other photos were found to be fake or
have not yet been thoroughly analyzed.
7. Modern scientists continue numerous studies of Loch ness, but the muddy water due to the huge amount of peat suspension in it,
prevents high-qualityvideo shooting of the underwater world. But ultrasound studies have given a
stunning result: according to it, huge objects do move in the lake at a great
depth, which then descend, then rise, then change their direction abruptly. Of
course, this cannot be proof of the existence of the Loch Ness monster. After
all, these" objects " can also be logs that are affected and move at depth due
to many currents.
8. Perhaps in the very near future, cutting-edge technology will solve the mystery of Loch ness, which is not only famous for its
monster, but also like a magnet attracts unidentified flyingobjects. Photos of UFOs taken over the calm surface of Loch
ness, by the way, in a huge number can be found at various
thematic exhibitions and on the Internet.
