the verge of extinction: Amur tiger,
Far Eastern and Central Asian
leopards, polar bear, Atlantic walrus,
bison, snow leopard, mountain sheep
Argali, etc.

Sustainable forest management, marine fisheries:
conservation of forest biological diversity in Russia
based on the transition to their sustainable
management and protection. environmentally
responsible use and protection of marine biological
resources (pollock, cod, Far Eastern salmon and
Caspian sturgeon).

"ecological footprint" of the Russian citizen and the
quality of the country's economic growth would not
threaten the functioning of the biosphere of our

WWF ecoregional projects
As part of the Living Planet
international program, WWF
specialists have identified more
than 200 ecological regions of the
planet that are most important for
the conservation of the diversity
of the Earth's wildlife. By
conserving these regions, we can
conserve more than 95% of the
planet's existing biological
diversity.
There are 14 such ecoregions on
the territory of Russia, and WWF
is already working in most of
them.
