Day 1
The capital of Karelia - Petrozavodsk, Kizhi Museum-Reserve
Arrival in Petrozavodsk by morning trains (until 10:00), group gathering at the main entrance to the railway
station, a guide with a sign "Lukomorye".
For those arriving by night trains – transfer to the hotel and early accommodation.
We ask you to provide the train number and arrival time when booking the tour.
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast in the restaurant.
09:00 – 11:00 Baggage check-in at the hotel's luggage room. Getting to know the city — a sightseeing tour
“From the history of Petrozavodsk". Transfer to the passenger port.
11:00 – 18:00 Meteor ride to Kizhi Island (1 hour 15 min. on Lake Onega). Here, in Kizhi, 68 monuments of
traditional wooden architecture are collected in the open air. The pearl of the collection is rightfully considered
to be the 22x-the main Transfiguration Church with a height of 37 meters (date of construction – 1714). A
sightseeing tour of the main exposition of the museum will introduce you to:
— the Kizhi architectural ensemble, which is included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage
List;
— the interior of the current Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and several peasant
houses;
- with traditional peasant crafts of the north.
18:00 Return to Petrozavodsk and dinner with Karelian cuisine.
19:00 Check-in at the Karelia Hotel in standard rooms.

Day 2
Valaam Island, Sortavala City, Kronid Gogolev Gallery
07:00 – 07:30 Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
07:30 – 10:30 am we leave for the city of Sortavala (240 km).
11:00 – 18:00 Then a trip by meteor to Valaam Island (50 min. on Lake Ladoga).
During the sightseeing tour, we will get acquainted with the central estate of the
monastery and visit the Transfiguration Cathedral, where the relics of the founders of
the monastery, Herman and Sergius of Valaam, rest.
15:00 Lunch in the refectory.
Then we will cross on the meteor to the part of the island called “New Jerusalem".
Walking tour “Through the Valaam skeets": visit to the Resurrection Skete. Then we
will see the Gethsemane Hermitage and the Gethsemane Garden – a favorite place of
solitude of the Most Holy Theotokos. At the end of the tour we will climb the Mount
of Olives, from here you can enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Ladoga.
18:00 – 19:00 In the evening return to Sortavala. We are visiting the exhibition of the
famous wood carver – Kronid Gogolev.
19:00 – 22:00 Return trip to Petrozavodsk.

Day 3
Reserve and waterfall Kivach, new natural object White Mountain, Medvezhegorsk, Kem and
museum “Pomorie”
07:00 – 09:00 Room release after breakfast. We are waiting for a long, but not tedious move to the
north of Karelia to the city of Kem.
10:00 – 11:00 On the way we visit the nature reserve “Kivach". During this tour we will walk through
the territory of the oldest nature reserve, see the famous Karelian birch and take beautiful photos of the
waterfall. It will amaze you with its beauty, power, age-old movement of water and restraint of the
northern nature!
12:00 – 13:00 Then a trip to a unique natural object – the White Mountain. A little over a hundred
years ago, it was the center of marble mining in the north of Russia. Crossing to the ancient ruins on a
self-propelled 11-seater ferry across the picturesque lake Gizhozero. Guided tour of historical marble
mining sites among marble blocks and high steep cliffs. From the upper part of the park there is a
magnificent view of the lake and the quiet beautiful village of Belaya Gora.
14:30 – 15:30 Lunch in the city of Medvezhegorsk on the shore of Lake Onega. A visit to the company
store at the Karelian Patterns factory, which produces linen products with traditional embroidery.
16:00 – 20:00 Transfer to the city of Kem.
20:00 – 21:00 Visit to the Karelian Museum “Pomorie". Kem has been the "capital" of the Pomeranian
Seafarers' region for centuries. The museum's collections include household items, labor, folk
decorative and applied art, reflecting the life of the Pomors – a special subethnos of the Russian
people.
21:30 Arrival in the village of Rabochiostrovsk on the shore of the White Sea. Accommodation in the
Prichal Hotel in standard rooms.

Day 4
Solovki, Solovetsky Kremlin, Cape of Labyrinths and “dancing” Solovetsky birches
07:00 – 07:45 Breakfast.
08:00 – 10:30 Departure by boat to the Solovetsky Islands (2.5 hours sailing on the White
Sea).
10:30 – 11:00 Meeting with the Solovetsky guide at the pier, acquaintance, walk to the tour
desk.
11:00 – 13:30 Sightseeing tour of the Solovetsky Kremlin. The tour will introduce you to
the history of the Solovetsky Monastery, the Solovetsky Special Purpose Camp, the
Training Detachment of the Northern Fleet and the Jung School. You will visit the territory
of the central complex of the monastery, active temples, monuments included in the
UNESCO World Heritage List, objects of economic activity of the monastery.
14:00 – 15:00 Lunch at the cafe.
15:00 – 16:00 Accommodation in the hotel “Solovetskaya Sloboda" in rooms of the
category "standard” or “standard attic floor”.
16:00 – 17:00 Guided walk to the Cape of Labyrinths and to the “dancing” Solovetsky
birches.
Free time.

21.

Day 5
Sekirnaya Mountain and Botanical Garden
08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast. After breakfast – room release.
10:00 – 13:30 Bus tour "Sekirnaya gora – Botanical Garden". You will visit one of
the highest points of the Bolshoy Solovetsky Island, from the top of which an
unforgettable view of the island and the White Sea opens, you will see a unique
lighthouse church, one of the northernmost botanical gardens in Russia.
14:00 – 15:00 Lunch.
Free time.
16:00 or 18:00 (depending on the departure time of your train) Transfer from the
hotel with your belongings to the pier.
17:00 or 19:00 Departure by boat to the village of Rabochostrovsk.
19:00 or 21:00 Transfer to the railway station of the city of Kem.
Departure by evening or night train.
Please let us know in advance which train you are returning by in order to book a
room for an extra night at the Prichal Hotel, if necessary
