Hello, everybody! Let's get acquainted.
My name is Masha.
My best friends are Veruka, Tiago, John and Sasha.
I’m not much of a singer
Still I always sing a lot,
I’m not much of a dancer
That’s how I’ve recently thought.
I’m not much of an actress,
Though I’ve been acting not once,
I’m not much of a chess player,
Though I’ve won many games not by chance.

I’m not much of a poet
That is why I seldom write,
The main thing: I’m not a pessimist
That is why my mood is almost always bright!
I’d like to tell you about an amazing friend
as much as I could.
It will further improve my wonderful mood.

Someone can think that my project will be
about my peer but they will be mistaken.
It will be about the man who is described by
our English teacher in her online diary.

I wouldn’t have such a huge interest in the
language and I wouldn’t have so many
friends from different countries now if I hadn’t
made friends with such a wonderful person.

My elder sister’s schoolmate wanted
to improve his English and found a native speaker for
that purpose in the social net Facebook.
Eugene and John became good friends and Zhenya
invited him to Melenki.
Miracles happen!!! John came to our provincial town
and found some more Russian friends here.
Our English teachers are among them.
All of us can describe John in 4 lines:

My sister really wanted to communicate with
such a wonderful person, so she started
exchanging letters with John.
The age difference was not noticeable, because
John is so broad-minded and understanding!
When he came to visit us, Nastya became an
interpreter for the whole family and she really
liked it.
Nastya is an interpreter now, and John was one
of the reasons for choosing this profession.

When John arrived in
Melenki, my family and I
walked around the town
with him. We took him to
Russian villages, showed
Russian banya, told about
our traditions and served
him Russian food.
John made a strong
impression on us and he
liked us too, that is why he
decided to come to
Russia again.

I was a small girl when John came to us for
the first time and lived at our place. I only
listened with wide open eyes how Nastya
communicated with an Englishman. I spoke
English little but I was proud to have beaten
John in chess. In 3 years, during John’s 2nd
visit to Melenki, I spoke with him much more.
As for his 3d visit, it was unforgettable!!!

John celebrated the 75th birthday in 2016.
We created a concert project for our
wonderful guest.
All students and teachers did much to make
the project a reality.
And we did it!
The hour of the concert flew like 5 minutes.

Oh, how could I forget about that merry
dance!? (Video2)
And I was happy to receive a compliment
from John about my acting in the play. I
played the role of Goldilocks. (Video3)
