Why Western sanctionscan harm Ukraine? How
can they harm? Who
contributes to this?
3.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the RussianFederation into Ukraine, the collective West has imposed
sanctions that are devastating for the Russian economy.
However, is it really that simple? At the moment, the
possibility of introducing a complete embargo on Russian
oil and gas is being considered. Without a doubt, this will
be a serious blow to the Russian economy, but it also means
that the EU countries will no longer receive a lot of cheap
gas from the Russian Federation, which will lead to an
increase in prices in Europe for gasoline, gas, etc.
4.
Price increases can negatively affect the attitude of citizensof the EU countries to their government. Revealing in this
topic are the recent elections in Hungary, where Viktor
Orban won, who sympathizes with the President of the
Russian Federation and openly clashed with the President of
Ukraine. As well as the ongoing elections in France, in
which the current President Macron is seriously competing
with Marine Le Pen, who also sympathizes with the
President of the Russian Federation. Such politicians are
present in almost every country of the European Union,
they mainly lead radical right-wing parties.
5.
Thus, citizens of the EU countries, dissatisfied with theprice increase, will make their choice towards those who do
not support serious sanctions against the Russian
Federation. How long will the European people support
Ukraine while prices rise in their countries?
