Orenburg (from 1938 to 1957 - Chkalov) is a cityin Russia. Administrative center of the
Orenburg region and the Orenburg region. The
city is located in the Southern Cis-Urals, on the
Ural (Yaik) River, near the confluence of the
Sakmara River. Orenburg is located 1475 km

THE HISTORY OFORENBURG
Orenburg was founded as a fortress in 1735 at the
Ural-Or confluence, where Orsk now stands. The
city was originally the military centre of the Ural
Cossacks.

A third Orenburg was successfullyestablished by Ivan Neplyuyev at its
present location approximately 250 km
down the Ural from Orsk in 1743.
