What the belt wrestling is?
Belt wrestling is Tatar national sport, which consists of a single
combat of two belted wrestlers. Athletes are in a fight all the
time, holding each other with the belts and each of the
sportsmen are trying to knock the other down and win.

The history of Koresh (belt wrestling)
In July the 26th in 2010 tatar belt wrestling
was recognized as a sport and included as
a national sport.
In July 1928 the first official belt wrestling
competition “Koresh” was held in Kazan.

Prizes
Wrestles of our district take the first places and receive many
prizes.
In December the 5th in 2020, the Russian Championship was
held in Kazan at the Volga Sports Academy. The Republic of
Tatarstan took 9 gold and one silver medals. There were some
sportsmen from our district too.
On December the 30th of the same year the final stage of the
Russian Cup took place. The teams of the Republic of Tatastan and
Bashkortostan took part there. Our national team won the first
prize and the Cup.

Prizes
On October 25-26 in Kazan competitions of
the 24th Championship of the Republic of
Tatarstan in belt wrestling Koresh were
held. Tyulyachinsky district took the first
place. Baltasinsky and Kukmorsky districts
won the 2nd and the 3rd prizes.

Almaz Saetov
Studens of our school also participate in wrestling competitions.
Almaz Saetov – a graduate of 2018 is our favourite sportsman.
He is also a student of the Academy of Physical Culture, Sport
and Tourism
His prizes :
The belt wrestling Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan
among youths - the 3rd place .
The Cup of the first President of the Republic of Tatarstan
among youths – the 3rd place .
The belt wrestling Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan
among youths – the 1st place , among men – the 2nd place .
He became the main “Batyr” of Sabantuy for 8 years in a
row .
