WHAT IS VPN?
• VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a set of technologies that allows you to create separate
secure networks on top (or inside) the existing ones.

3.

Schematically, it looks like this:

4.

For users connected to the same VPN, it looks as if they are in the same
local area network, for example, in office or at home. In fact, users may be
in different countries or even on the road. Fairly common situation where
employees are traveling and are connected to the corporate network
through the VPN.

5.

STRUCTURE OF VPN
VPN is composed of two parts: the "intrinsic" (controlled) network, which may be
several, and "external" network, through which passes the encapsulated compound
(usually the Internet). It is also possible to connect to a virtual network of individual
computer. Connecting the remote user to the VPN server is made by means of access,
which is connected to both the internal and the external (public) network. When
connecting the remote user (or when connecting to other protected network) access
server requires the passage of the identification process, and then the authentication
process. Upon successful completion of both processes remote user (remote network) is
empowered to work in a network, that is the process of authorization.
