-1920 Родился в деревне Новоселки
Орловской губернии. Получил домашнее
образование, обучался в кругу
домашней челяди. В тринадцать лет
поступил в пансион города Веррло

Шарлотта-Елизавета
Беккер (1798—1844)
дочь немецкого
бюргера, являлась
супругой некоего
Иоганна Фета. Позже
сбежала в Россию с
Афанасием
Неофитовичем
Иоганн-Петер-КарлВильгельм Фёт (1789—
1826), асессор городского
суда Дармштадта. После
того как его оставила первая
жена, в 1824 году вторым
браком женился на
воспитательнице своей
дочери Каролины.
Афанасий Неофитович
Шеншин (1775—1854),
ротмистр в отставке,
богатый орловский
помещик, мценский
уездный судья.

До 14 лет Афанасий Афанасьевич
получал домашнее образование

Поступил в Московский
университет на
юридический факультет, но
вскоре перевелся на
филологический

Фет, до этого получавший
образование на дому,
переезжает в Москву, где
поступает на обучение в
пансион профессора
Михаила Погодина

Афанасий Фет
стремился вернуть
дворянский титул и он
решил поступить на
военную службу.
Фет начал службу в
чине унтер-офицера.
Через год получил
офицерское звание.
Закончил службу штабротмистром.
