The historic castle Howard is the magnificent ancestral home of one of the oldest aristocratic families in England the Howards.
It was built in 1699—1712 by John Vanbrey It is considered to be the most beautiful palace in Great Britain
The construction began Charles Howard , the 3rd Earl of Carlisle. 90 years later his grandson finished it.
The garden facade is decorated with pilasters, the parapet on the top are placed the statues and decorative vases.
Triangular pediment is decorated with the arms of the counts of Carlisle.
The building is crowned by a magnificent dome, with a height of 70 feet. From the hall a dome is supported by four columns representing the four basic elements of the world: Earth, Fire, Air and Water.
The fresco on the ceiling depicts the Phaeton, son of Apollo, who falls to the ground from the chariot of his father.
In the Great hall opposite each other located fireplace and the niche of Bacchus

The current Anglican chapel
One of the most memorable places in the house is a long corridor filled with antique statues and busts.
Located on this corridor the gallery, 160 feet in length, filled with oak bookcases, musical instruments and paintings of great artists
