WHAT’S SORA?
Welcome to the future! Sam Altman and OpenAI announced
a new model called Sora and it can generate one minute
video clips from just text input.
Similar to DALL.E, which could transform text input into
photorealistic or stylized images, Sora can do the same for
videos. However, unlike DALL.E, Sora needs to
understand how all these things like reflections, textures,
materials, and physics all interact with each other over
time to make a reasonable looking video.
Absolutely ridiculous how far we've come in literally one year!

Those examples look incredible, but the current model isn't
perfect. It might have trouble simulating complex physics in
scenes and understanding specific situations. There are
also imperfections in Sora's rendering, especially in things
like frame rates and movement accuracy, often giving
away its AI origin.
Some clips may feel slightly off or video gamey, yet they
still provide usable content similar to stock footage.
There's also a watermark in the bottom corner of every
video generated by it. So if you see one of those videos,
it’s a pretty clear indicator that it's AI generated.
Anyway, despite these imperfections, Sora is a
huge improvement in AI-generated content
creation.
