Artwork guidelines
• Packaging dimensions are provided to harmonize
packaging from the different supply sources. If existing
production/ packaging facility does not allow to follow
recommended dimensions, supplier shall inform through
their offers during the procurement process.
• Artwork allows for text in 2 languages (English + 1
other language)
• Texts highlighted in magenta are to be customized by
vendor
• No printing should be done on sealing areas
• The ink used must be food grade
• Suppliers are responsible for the accuracy of the
information printed
• “supplied by” + address should be added on the bag if
manufacturer and supplier are different. If manufacturer
and supplier are the same, it should be written as
“supplied and manufactured by”

• For all font size indication (Example: “OpenSans
20/24pt”) the first number means the size of the font, the
second the leading for multiline text.
• Manufacturer shall refer to the relevant WFP
specification to fill in the nutrient table
• Suppliers must adjust dimensions as per properties of
their line and product, in most cases dimension 870x520
is appropriate for 25kg bag. Decision on the optimal size
is responsibility of the supplier. The size should be big
enough so that flour bags can be easily stacked (too
small bags cannot be flattened when laid horizontally,
which affects the stability of the stack)”
• Each bag must have at least the date of production in
format dd/mm/yyyy and/or other lot identifier that can be
used for traceability up to one day of production printed.
Suppliers have 2 options:
-Apply the tag with stamped date of production
and/or batch number
- Apply the date of production and/or the batch
number with the ink jet directly on the bag.
